RESPONSIBILITIES
Leading the global Chartering Team for the Supramax/Panamax desk
Setting the business plans and planning/executing the strategy
Developing goals and targets for the department along with engaging, inspiring and motivating the team members
Manage various spot, COAs, derivatives and commercial enquiries
Building and managing strong relationships with various customers, cargo brokers, Ship Owners etc
Developing and ensuring the standardization of policies and procedures across various offices
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Execute voyage contracts, agency negotiations, coordinating with agent for berthing/ loading/ discharging operations
Issuing voyage instructions to Master
Liaising directly with the vessels and the Owners, Charterers, Brokers, Agents etc
Issuing and following up on payment of freight invoices / hire invoices to charterers
Calculation of laytime and reporting demurrage / dispatch. Issuing demurrage invoices as necessary
Maintaining separate voyage accounts for each vessel
Overseeing day to day commercial operations of ships
Appointing and dealing with agents and inspectors on a regular basis
Assisting in settlement of disputes with Owners/Charterers
Maintaining record of off hire and ensuring that downtime is always minimized
Bunker planning
Monitoring ship’s speed and consumption and vessel maintaining performance records. Highlighting under-performance to technical managers and ensuring that necessary steps are taken to rectify any under-performance
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree with excellent communication and inter-personal skill
2-3 years’ working experience in dry bulk operations
