What is your role & responsibilities at BainBridge Navigation?
Right From Inception Pulling PDA’s, Speaking to Port Agents, Shippers, Charterer’s,
Registering Freight, Liaising with brokers and Vessel Owners for Tonnage’s , Liaising
with Bunker Team, (From Cradle to Grave Booking Cargoes and Securing Tonnages
from the Market)
What did you learn while working with BainBridge Navigation?
Shipping is a very fast paced Organization and I got to learn the same in BBN.
Appropriate and Timely Decision Making along with Calculated Risks always are always
Rewarding
Share a fun and interesting story from work?
Everyday is a New Learning and Experience in Shipping. There are umpteen stories still
will share one.
One fine day we were Trying to Book the Steel Cargo – we had the commitment from
ship Owners that we hve their support and we had actually secured the Cargo but in the
meantime, Owners ran away from their Commitment, and we were standing nowhere as
there was only one ship in the Laycan.
Few hours passed by and then we had to Nominate the ship and we were Trying best to
convince owners to support us but they never came and we were little worried as there
was intense pressure from the shipper to Nominate the Ship.
It is always Said that Brave wins – we kept our cool and the whole Shipping Market
Knew we had a booked cargo but no ship in the Laycan.
Then It happened there was a off Market ship which was desperate to got the our desired
destination and it happened that we actually traded that ship in 30 minutes and
Nominated and Performed even though Owners has Back traded us.
The Learning here is what ever happens in life just not to Panic and keep on turning the
Wheels, you will Definitely reach the Destination!
How do you spend your weekends?
I am a Nature lover, so the weekend is spent in planting Trees, Gardening, Music, Cricket
and Sometimes Cooking
